What does the script
look like for your film? You should have at least a basic summary of the
film in order to pitch it. Research and skim screenplays for other films in
your genre to get an idea of what they look like (this is also a great exercise
for scripting your opening sequence). Resource: http://www.moviescriptsandscreenplays.com/ (Links to an external site.)
What is your "brand" or
"mission statement" for your film? What are you striving towards?
What are you trying to achieve with your story? Your brand will be important
for choosing a production company and pitching your film.
The script of my film will be based on a mystery
horror type of film. It will begin with a woman walking at night by herself and
then out of the blue someone kidnaps her and takes her away leaving only her
phone behind. When she wakes up, she is in a room on a bed but the room was odd,
it had no windows or any type of sunlight. She opened the door but it just led
to another door being in front of her. The mission statement for my film is to leave
the viewers anxious and scared to see what happens next. I want the film to be intriguing
but also something that will make viewers want to run away due to the fact that
it is scary and the mystery will keep giving suspense. The main point of my brand is to sir emotions and
make the connection with the audience.
