- I think my group and I are going to do a mystery thriller •
What are the basic genre conventions of my movie (themes, style, characters, etc.)? - The murder is the central plot in almost, if not all murder mysteries. The murder aids the story play along. The story bases on how much evidence the murderer left at the crime scene so that the detective can begin the search. The detective begins to use that evidence and witnesses to gather what was the motive behind the killing of the person.
- The murder is most often shown during the end of the book or film, it also plays as an important corrector. They are mentioned multiple times throughout the scene and throughout the script. The murder is also often someone who you least expect, and it should shock viewers.
- The victim dies in the beginning, but some murders like to play out the whole movie and kill them towards the end so that a sequel could come out and see how it continues to pay out. Also, there may be multiple victims and the on ethers in the beginning is not the only one that’s going to die.
- Clues! Throughout the film you will see clues and those clues help you track down the murder. At some point there will be some sort of twist or misdirection but eventually the main characters will figure it out and figure the case.
